store in brentwood, maryland. it shows an officer striking a man with his gun. you can see a flash. that's the gun going off. because of this video, corporal donald taylor was charged with second degree assault last month. police say taylor lied about the incident. he said a man attempting to rob a gas station tried to take his gun. the suspect spent four months in jail until prosecutors dropped the charges. we spoke to his attorney. >> when the video contradicts what the officer wrote, what it show ss that my client, they put his face on television, said he committed the crimes and he didn't. >> dorm and his attorney have filed a $10 million lawsuit against the police department and corporal taylor. the political spotlight shifts down to charlotte, north carolina, the site of the democratic national convention. president obama says he will offer a better path forward.
